How do I use Practice Panic in the studio?

Practice Panic was designed as a textbook-like resource for the private studio that facilitates greater growth and development throughout a singer’s course of study. This is a book that gets used, not just read so every student will need and want one to call their own.

Use it weekly

Assign/complete one lesson each week to encourage more dedicated and efficient practice and to build the foundation of a strong practice process throughout vocal study. Using it in this way ensures that the fundamentals of practice and vocal study are introduced over the course of one year. The lessons and exercises can then be revisited in subsequent years to deepen the engagement and understanding of the material throughout the entire course of study.

Use it as a multi-year curriculum

Practice Panic is structured so it can grow with a student across four years of study: Level 1 for freshmen or first year of study, Level 2 for sophomores or second year of study, and so on.Using it this way allows students to deepen their engagement with the material and take time to thoroughly build each of the ideas into their process.

Use it as an on-demand reference

The book can be used piece by piece rather than cover to cover — a teacher can direct a student to a particular lesson or set of tools when needed, and a student can just as easily reference a section on their own when they're ready for it.

However you use it, the goal is the same:

Giving students a reliable, structured partner in the practice room and giving teachers a structured framework in the studio leading to greater growth between lessons.
